Arabized Tuareg of Niger Republic

"Arabized" Tuareg are those who have adopted the Arabic language as their own. At least to this extent, they have become a part of Arab culture. Before French colonization, the Tuareg were organized into loose confederations, each consisting of a dozen or so tribes. Following the independence of African countries in the 1960s, Tuareg territory was artificially divided into modern nations: Niger, Mali, Algeria, Libya, and Burkina Faso. Each Tuareg clan is made up of several family groups, led by their collective chiefs.

Ministry Obstacles: The Tuareg tribes have strong tribal identity, and Islam is part of that self-identification.

Outreach Ideas: Perhaps African believers will be burdened to carry the message of Christ to the Tuareg tribes.

  • Pray that tribal animosities will be overcome among them.
  • Pray for the followers of Jesus soon to be found among the Tuareg tribes;
  • That the Lord will send qualified pastors and teachers, that they will be zealous to follow Christ, and they will live holy lives in the power of the Lord's Spirit.
  • Pray for the entire Tuareg tribes of Africa, that they will increasingly desire to know Jesus, the Son of God, deity.
  • Pray that Jesus will reveal himself to them, and will send Christians to help them.

Scripture Focus: "Give thanks to the Lord, call on His Name; make known among the nations what He has done." Psalm 105:1

Fashion of Hell

The elders have a saying, "If children of the same mother enter into a room to talk and come out smiling, they have not told each other the truth. Alright, so in the next 3 minutes, you might not be smiling as I am going to tell you the truth, because I am your daddy. Strictly speaking, I have searched the scripture, there is nowhere that I have found where it is written, if you wear make-up, you will go to hell or you will not make it to heaven, I can’t find it in the Bible. It is not to be found anywhere at all, but I have done my own research.

There are two places in the whole Bible where references were made to painting of face, only two places, and the two places are bad. One of the places talked about Jezebel. How many of you will name your daughter Jezebel?

The day Jezebel was going to die, she did make up properly, painted her face, dented her face with jewelries, but at the end of the day, dogs ate her up."

2 Kings 9:30 And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.

Her intention? To conquer and disarm Jehu; to entice him and induce him to take her for wife. (see Jarchi)

'Jarchi was a medieval French rabbi and author of a comprehensive commentary on the Talmud and commentary on the Tanakh. Acclaimed for his ability to present the basic meaning of the text in a concise and lucid fashion, Jarchi Rashi appeals to both learned scholars and beginner students, and his works remain a centerpiece of contemporary Jewish study.'

"The second place is in Jeremiah 4:29-30 where God was speaking in anger to daughters of Zion, He says, 'when I make up my mind to deal with you, you can paint your face as you like, it is not going to deliver you.'

Read it, you have your Bible to read. Those are the only two places I found, and they are terrible references.

Now as far as I am concerned, it is up to you to decide how you want to look, you want to make up, you want to paint yourself, you are at liberty.

If for any reason whatsoever God decides not to allow you to enter heaven, sorry o!!!

The point I'm making is this, nobody ever adds sugar to honey. Have you seen anybody adding sugar to honey? Anytime you see a piece of furniture that is painted, wooden furniture that is painted, the wood is inferior. When the wood is ebony, nobody paints it, no no no. I think children of God should realise they are precious enough, by the special grace of God and by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. They are honey, they don’t need sugar.

Some people go about in the name of fashion wearing wigs. I'm not being judgemental at all. This is not law, there is nowhere in the Bible which says if you wear wigs, you can't make it to heaven. But this hair that you are wearing, from whose head was it cut? Do you know who was the original owner of the hair? Do you know what kind of anointing is in that hair? It is put in the most important part of your body, the head!!! 'Thou anointed my head.' Things are so bad now that some ladies come for ordination with wigs on. I always asked them: 'Which one do you want me to anoint, the wig or the head?'

I told you, you will not smile by the time I finished. I have not been legalistic, I have not said thou shall not wear wig. I'm only talking to my daughters, my own children.

I read something in the book of Revelation 7:1-3. Some angels were sent from heaven to deal with the inhabitants of the world, after the rapture, the Bible says, I heard the Almighty God say, before you begin to deal with the people, let me mark them, let me seal them on their forehead, so that we may know those that the bullet should not hit.

What we wear matters. Why do you think the army wear uniforms? It is so that they will not accidentally shoot their own members. Can God recognize you at a glance, that is, as a child of God? Some people say it does not matter, and that what is inside is what is important, I agree with the last part, but what is inside will show outside. it will show on the outside, it will show, don’t let anybody deceive you.

When I became General Overseer, I brought a group of teachers to come and teach in the Bible College and they began to teach series of things I did not bargain for. They were teaching that God is not interested in the outside, He is interested in the inside, this man (the G. O.) is legalistic, he is too strict. So I went to Oyingbo market to buy two oranges, one ripe and the other green all over. My Bible students were beginning to turn to rebels and God gave me wisdom, so I stood before the class and I said, which of these oranges would you take if I ask you to pick one? They all pointed at the yellow and ripe one, and I said,

'Because that one is going to be the sweeter one,' they replied.

'How do you know when you have not seen the inside?'

They all said that what is inside the orange portrays and shows what is reflecting outside. An orange is sweet from the appearance because its inside is sweet and vice versa to unripe oranges....

It was at this point that God passed the real message to his people and the Holy Spirit gave them a change of heart.

People of God, God cannot be mocked, you cannot begin to tell people that God only dwells in the heart of man, seeks the heart alone and not the facial appearance. It is A LIE FROM THE PIT OF HELL !!! ...

You cannot sit on the fence, it is either you are cold or hot... Say no to FASHION OF HELL ... Why not be and remain the way God created you? Why are you adding to what God has created? In other words, you are telling God that, "God ooh, see you are senseless to have created me this way, I am going to recreate myself with make ups." (God forbid).

May you not be an enemy of God. Amen. "Let your dressing be in modest apparel, not of painting of face or using of gold necklaces or earrings, but of a pure heart, shamefacedness and modesty."

Have you considered Jezebel in the Bible? She was a perfect example of the usage of all these things, and she made all these things of demonic value. May you not be among her descendants in Jesus' mighty name. Let your watchword be 'WORLDLINESS FORBIDDEN.' Instead of the world copying good things from us (believers), we the believers are the ones copying bad things from the world! Very shameful and pathetic!

Remember, friendliness with the world equals to enmity with God.

Beware of the end time vices and change your ways now!"

The spirit of Christ is the spirit of missions. The nearer we get to Him, the more intensely missionary we become.

Henry Martyn

God is pursuing with omnipotent passion a worldwide purpose of gathering joyful worshipers for Himself from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. He has an inexhaustible enthusiasm for the supremacy of His name among the nations. Therefore, let us bring our affections into line with His, and, for the sake of His name, let us renounce the quest for worldly comforts and join His global purpose.

Christmas is almost here with us again. Once again the shopping season for 'Christmas clothes'  have set in again.

Unfortunately dozens of people around you are not participating in the Christmas shopping, not because they are not interested but because they are less fortunate in view of the recession.

Most of us  have some old jackets, coats, shirts, trousers, gowns, blouses,  jerseys and shoes that we no longer wear. In fact many of us have bagfuls and boxfuls of these items clustering our houses that they are almost suffocating us.

You really don't need these bags of clothings and yet you are keeping them. You are keeping them when there are thousands of adults and children who are in dire need of these clothes but cannot afford them. They are moving around in tatters and yet you are keeping what they need to keep warm and look good.

Want to put a smile on the face of an unfortunate, deprived fellow this Christmas season?

Or, maybe you are keeping a fleet of cars - some of which you haven't used for years - while missionaries and Missions Agencies are praying for provision of vehicles to reach the Unreached.

God is saying to you: "The Lord hath need of them." (Luke 19:34)

How Sleep The Brave?

They were trembling and cowering and shaking and shaking with fear;

They were huddled together in terror in the upper room.

'I say'; trembling, cowering, shaking, shaking, shaking with fear,

One hundred and twenty gathered in the upper room.

They were praying, praying, saying, 'O Lord send down the fire'.

O Lord, O Lord, O Lord, o-o send it we pray.

Having received the mandate - the greatest commission of all times: "But ye shall receive power after the Holy Spirit has come upon you and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth". (Acts 1:8), Christ's disciples retired to an upper room where they waited and prayed in uncertainty and fear for the fulfilment of the prophetic promise.

They had no boldness, they had no power, they had no resources (human, material and financial) to carry out the onerous assignment they had just received.

As they waited, as they trembled. As they prayed: SUDDENLY, the unexpected happened! Heaven itself came down upon them in the form of "a rushing, mighty wind...cloven tongues of fire... sat upon each of them." (Acts 2-3).

Empowerment has come upon a powerless, hopeless, defeated people. They rushed out from their hiding place and began to preach the gospel with unqualified boldness!

That marked the beginning of the EXECUTION OF GOD'S ENDTIME MANDATE ON EARTH, the first phase of the GREAT COMMISSION  "...and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem..."

NOTE: God is a meticulous planner. He gave general instructions on the project modalities  the Gospels. "Go ye into world and preach..."  (Mark 16:15). Then in Acts of the Apostles (Acts 1:8) detailing comes in.

As they started phase one of the project they were stupefied by the immensity of their success.

"Here!" They exclaimed in utter bewilderment. "We labored with our Master, criss-crossing the length and breadth of Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria for three years. And what do we have to show for it? A miserable one hundred and twenty people. But now in one fell swoop, we have gathered over three thousand people. Not three thousand that have come because they were hungry for bread. (John 6:11-12)"

They  were amazed beyond measure. Imagine a church that grew to about ten thousand members within the twinkling of an eye. (Each of the three thousand converts must have had at least, two children. Throw in about one or two househelps/dependants and the congregation would hit the ten thousand mark.)

Remember, they had only unveiled phase one of the End Time Mandate!

This was the first physical, corporate church. (Acts 2:42)

They were now face to face with the onerous task of consolidation: Disciplining the new converts and managing their sudden success. But, alas! That was as far as they ever went.

As they were trying to put an administrative structure on the ground: Fellowship regulations and timetables; Sharing in love; Having swell worship and praise sessions and so on and so forth, the real big bang came - the first major miracle (distinct from the "signs and wonders" of Acts 2:43) took place. The Beautiful Gate cripple was healed and over five thousand people repented on the spot.

By now the church membership would have hit twenty thousand. The Apostles now had a real problem in their hands: MANAGING SUCCESS.

This is what has killed the vision of the church today and derailed her from her track:

How would a church with twenty thousand members think of missions?

Have they built a cathedral big enough and befitting of their status as a Mega Church?

The Founder and General Overseer's comfort has to be taken care of as a matter of urgent, 'national?' importance of course by providing answers to the underlisted questions:

Is the mansion befitting enough for the 'great man of God?'

What of his fleet of cars - does it contain the latest in auto technology?

Has he got a private jet yet?

Is their private university listed among the first ten in the world?

Are the tuition fees paid in US Dollars, British Pounds or Euros?

In fact the list of frivolities is endless and in the process, THE CHURCH SETTLES DOWN TO BUILD A BABEL!

The church has settled down to erect cathedrals - monuments of no eternal value or returns on investment to the total exclusion of the "weightier matters."

St. Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

What a shameful tragedy.

We have seen above, a church that got enmeshed in frivolities and got sidetracked from God's timetable.

" in the process, the church settled down to build a Babel..."

NOTE: They did not relent in preaching the gospel though:

"...for we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard..." (Acts 4:18).

But the big questions are:

"Were they preaching to the target audience?

Were they preaching to the audience of the hour?

Were they still in God's time table according to Acts 1:8?"

1 p.m.      Acts 1:8B Jerusalem                    Jerusalem

2 p.m.         Acts 1:8C Judea                         Jerusalem

3 p.m.       Acts 1:8D Samaria                      Jerusalem

4 p.m.     Mk. 16:15 All Nations                   Jerusalem

At 4 p. m. When night was fast approaching.

At 4 p. m. Winding up time in God's timetable.

At 4 p. m. In God's timetable, the church was, and is still operating at 1 p. m.

What time are you in now as a corporate church?

What time are you in now as an individual christian/church?

Are you still in God's timetable?

They were doing the right things at the wrong time and place: Preaching in Jerusalem to people who had heard the gospel a thousand times while out there in Judea were teeming thousands who had not heard that same gospel for the first time in their lives.

Is that not exactly what you are doing today as a corporate church?

Well, they may have their reasons:

Did we not preach in Judea and Samaria for three years without substantial results?

Now we preach in Jerusalem only once and thousands are converted.

A pity. How short was their memory? They had probably forgotten the city of Sychar and the woman of Samaria. (John 4:5-42).

They must have also forgotten the great gospel breakthrough in Galilee as recorded in John chapter 4 verses 44, 45 and 47.

Or, maybe they did not forget at all. They probably were only viewing economic viability.

"Would investment in those areas be economically viable?"

"Is the oil there in commercial quantity?"

"Would a church in that locality fetch enough tithes?"

They analyzed thus :

Years of effort in Samaria and Judea yielded only a handful.

One day's effort in Jerusalem yielded three thousand.

So which of them is a better investment haven?

"Years of effort yielded only a handful in Samaria while a single day's effort yielded three thousand in Jerusalem."

This is how Church Leaders plan their "Missions" strategy today. Financial profitability above every other consideration.

But even if the Apostles, made the afore stated assumptions, would they have been right?

The answer is 'No!' Did they not also labor in Jerusalem for over three years with only one hundred and twenty souls to show for it?

The key to success was not their labor but Divine empowerment:

St. Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

What is the Gospel time now? 4 p.m.  Evening time. Rounding up time and the "uttermost" parts of the earth - the whole unreached world -  is the geographical focus.

At 3 p.m. (Samaria Time) the Apostles were still moving around in circles in Jerusalem, feasting and partying. Setting up mega churches in "10 star hotels" and dinning with presidents and world leaders while Samaria was going to hell without Jesus.

"Far, far away, in heathen darkness dwelling,

Millions of souls forever, may be lost.

Who, who will go, salvation story telling,

Looking to Jesus counting not the cost?"

They were selling their houses and using the proceeds to treat themselves to 5 course dinners in seven-star hotels instead of investing same in reaching the world for the master.

Wrong teachings resulted in wrong reactions. "Christ is coming back today so why would we encumber ourselves with houses, property and education.

"You can take the whole world;

I have chosen Jesus, I have chosen Jesus...",

they sang and rightly too but, Alas! Nobody taught them to balance their lifestyle by "planning as though Jesus would never come but living their lives as though He was coming the very next minute".

Even marriage became absolutely unnecessary - a carnal pastime reserved only for 'perishing unbelievers' or carnal minded christians as they sang:

"I'm married to Jesus, Satan leave me alone..."

Their leaders became very powerful bishops and ministered with great power - to the wrong audience though.

As they became more successful, more powerful and more important, they decided that servants should he hired to service them so that the multitude would not come too close to disturb them.

They built a strong wall of protection around themselves - escorts, bodyguards, bible carriers, white handkerchief carriers, bottled water carriers, etcetera, etcetera.

Counselees were interviewed prior to seeing Oga  after filling out long interview application forms and paying prescribed fees.

Prayers were administered only on those who could afford the exorbitant charges for 'special'  olive oil marketed and distributed exclusively by the church.

At this point they were ministering indoors only, with the air-conditoned halls filled to capacity.

Instead of adhering to

"Go Ye into all the world",

they devised a new creed,

"Come Ye into all the Church."

THE CHURCH DECIDED NOT TO GO TO THE WORLD so the world DECIDED to go to the church hence church goers without a knowledge of Christ. The cart is now placed before the horse thus grinding movement to a full, absolute, complete halt. They negated the letter and spirit of:

"I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." (Matt. 16:28).

A moving church always on the offensive.

An attacking church.

A Missionary church.

A church that is not reclining in the comfort zone.

A church that has stepped over to where the real action is.

A church that has taken her rightful place in the combat zone of world missions.

But what do we have today?

A "sitting duck church" and for that reason the devil is using her for target practice.

HOW SLEEP THE BRAVE? How are the mighty fallen?

Missions or Monuments?

Just Started Thinking.

Yes, thinking about how the Church has shirked her divine given responsibility of soul winning and is squandering her stupendous financial and human resources on building cathedrals and monuments of no eternal value or returns on investment.

Just thinking, hoping and praying that someone would rouse her (Church) from her slumber and open her eyes to her enormous responsibility in world missions.

Just hoping that you reader could  join me in that hoping and praying. Or better still  -  that you would shake off your own slumber; step out of your comfort zone and step over to where the real action is: THE COMBAT ZONE OF WORLD MISSIONS!

Just hoping and praying that you would become one of  our Willing Missions Partners (WMP) and partner with us in executing God's End-Time Gospel Project on earth i.e. Preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations of the earth but with particular emphasis on Unreached People Groups of Africa.
